Well. As I am sure all of you know, this week was general
conference, when we get to hear from the prophet and the apostles and all the
awesome people. I watched Saturday in English, but on Sunday it was in Spanish,
as the internet wasn’t working. It was really cool, but kind of odd hearing
only Spanish without voice overs, and that the apostles voice over guys sound
so weird.
We did a lot of preparation for the general conference, most
of this week was inviting people to general conference, but we did have a funny
story with our investigator named Jerinson
We were talking about joseph smith, and he asked why Joseph
Smith had failed if he was sent from God. We were confused, and asked him to
elaborate. Well, he told us that if the mission for Joseph Smith was to spread
the gospel to all the earth, he had failed, as he had not preached it to
everyone. We said that his mission was to reestablish the church, and to
translate the book of Mormon, and that the mission of the church as a whole is
to preach the gospel to all the world. So he looks at us kind of weird, than
asks us why no is out preaching this gospel to everyone. Me and my comp looked
at each other a bit weirdly, and then I just pointed to my comp and me while my
comp said, "uhh, we are kind of doing that right now, with you, and
everyone we can". And you could almost see the lightbulb go off in the
investigators head of "duhhhhhh". So that was kind of funny.
We also were contacting up the wazoo, so that was ok, just
hard, as this was semana santa, and that means that everyone and their mother
are in the interior of the country. Also, that there are a lot of catholic
processions. Which, just observing them, entails some person carrying a cross
and a bunch of people following the dude with a cross. It was odd.
And, also, I made brownies for my bishop, and he loved them.
So good times.
Have a great week!!
